About Elena Voyce

From Personal Healing To A New Way Of Understanding Gut Health

Elena Voyce is a leading voice in integrative movement for gut health, with over 30 years of experience helping people overcome irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic constipation, bloating, and other persistent digestive conditions.

But her work didn’t begin in a clinic or a classroom. It began in her own body…

A Body That Told a Different Story

From birth, Elena’s body carried a hidden challenge. A trauma involving her umbilical cord created a separation along the linea alba—the connective tissue that supports the abdominal wall. This meant that from the very beginning, her core lacked the structural integrity needed to properly support her gut and spine.

As she grew, this early disruption began to show itself in subtle but significant ways. Her core remained weak and unstable, her digestion became increasingly imbalanced, and she developed back problems, including protruding vertebrae, at a young age. What appeared to be separate issues—posture, pain, and digestion—were in fact deeply interconnected.

At the time, however, this connection was not widely understood.

The Missing Connection: Gut, Core, Movement, and Posture

Through years of personal experience and professional exploration, Elena came to understand something fundamental: you cannot truly work with posture without considering the gut, and you cannot restore the gut without addressing how the body is supported and aligned.

This realisation became a turning point. Elena began to see that lasting change required more than treatment alone—it required retraining how the body moves, supports itself, and relates to the gut from within.

Retraining The Gut: A Personal Journey

Alongside these structural challenges, Elena also navigated the emotional and physiological impact of early life experiences. The imprint of childhood trauma influenced her relationship with food and body image, leading at times to disordered eating patterns. Over time, these experiences disrupted her digestive system and contributed to imbalances within her gut microbiome.

Later, physical injuries, periods of intense work, and ongoing stress compounded these issues, creating a complex web of symptoms that many of her future clients would come to recognise in themselves.

Rather than accepting these patterns as fixed, Elena began a process of deep inquiry. She explored how movement, breath, alignment, and awareness could influence the gut in ways that went far beyond diet alone. This was not about managing symptoms—it was about transformation.

She didn’t just learn about the gut. She retrained it.

From Disruption to Deep Function

Now, at 54, Elena’s body tells a very different story. Despite structural damage that remains visible in MRI scans, she lives without the chronic pain that once defined her early life. Her core is responsive and functional, her gut is supported and integrated, and her body moves with strength and ease.

Her experience is a powerful demonstration of the body’s capacity to adapt, reorganise, and heal when approached in the right way.

Discovering the Power of Movement

Although Elena originally trained in nutrition, she began to observe that the most profound and lasting improvements in gut health did not come from food alone, but from how the body moved and organised itself.

Through years of study, practice, and refinement, she developed her approach to functional movement, known as SASSY—a precise, biomechanically intelligent method that works with the body rather than against it. This approach helps restore alignment, regulate the nervous system, support digestion, and rebuild the deep structures that underpin core stability.

From this work, her signature method Moving With Guts was born, reflecting Elena’s central insight that true stability—physical, emotional, and physiological—begins in the gut.

Her work invites people to reconnect with their bodies in a new way, restoring digestive function while also creating a deeper sense of resilience, balance, and vitality.

Advancing the Practice of Integrative Movement

Over the past three decades, Elena has become an internationally recognised expert in functional movement, working with people from all walks of life. Her clients include those managing chronic conditions, individuals recovering from injury, and professionals seeking to enhance performance and longevity.

Her approach has helped many avoid surgery, reduce pain, and achieve lasting, sustainable change by addressing the body as an interconnected system rather than a collection of isolated parts.

From Academia to Embodied Understanding

Elena’s academic background is both rigorous and multidisciplinary, including multiple post-graduate qualifications. Her initial academic focus culminated in a PhD in Law—shaping her analytical and critical thinking and focus on individual context. Over time, her focus shifted toward human wellbeing and the more direct, personal contribution of working with people through movement and rehabilitation.

While her qualifications are impressive, Elena maintains that genuine understanding arises not only from theory, but from lived, embodied experience.

Alongside her academic work, she trained extensively in yoga, Pilates, and Feldenkrais, beginning in her hometown of Bologna, Italy, and continuing throughout her career. These practices shaped her deeply integrated understanding of movement and whole-person health, complementing her formal qualifications and enriching her approach.

Teaching, Mentoring, and Transformation

For more than 25 years, Elena trained and mentored hundreds of movement teachers through her accredited school, Teach Yoga in London. Her work continues to evolve, but her focus remains clear: to help people reclaim their gut health, restore their confidence, and rediscover a sense of vitality from within.

Today, this work is brought together through Moving With Guts and Seasonal Gut Reset, offering a structured and supportive pathway for those seeking a deeper, more integrated approach to gut health.
